The Midwest Antique and Arts Show opened its doors in 1986 and remains at its original site at the Hawkeye Downs Fairgrounds in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Midwest Show is well known for its emphasis on Americana and related accessories associated with a metropolitan antiques show with booths displaying quality antiques of the 18th, 19th centuries through the Mid-century Modern era. The Collector's Ey

e collectable antiques show, added in 2007, has a different emphasis focusing on quality collectible from roughly the 1890s through the mid-1950s. Both shows open and close at the same time with opening being at 10:00 a.m., and closing at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30th, 2022. A $10 dollar per person admission allows access to BOTH shows.

110 antiques dealers participate in this combined show venue allowing significant opportunity for the buying public to discover and purchase distinctive objects that have been specially saved for these shows by participating dealers. Contracts for our October 25 Midwest Antique & Art Show in Cedar Rapid, Iowa have been going out this week!

If you exhibited in April and have not received your contract, please reach out. We may have outdated contact information and want to make sure no one is missed!

If you have exhibited at either Midwest or Collectors Eye in the past but did not participate in the April show, we’d love to hear from you, too.

If you’ve never exhibited at the Cedar Rapids shows before but are interested in hearing our plans for taking the two shows forward under the Midwest banner, we’d be more happy to chat about how you can be part of the future of the show!

A little bird told us…
…there’s a rumor going ‘round that the Collector’s Eye show is closed for good. NOPE! Not true!
As Hawkeye Downs begins work on its new event building which will be one big open space, we are looking to the future and consolidating the two shows previously run separately but simultaneously. Not only does that position everything better for the pending move to the new building (possibly next year!) but it also avoids a lot of duplication of effort and keeps the advertising cleaner and easier in this age of fast scrolling!
So, although those birdies are singing the wrong song - all your favorites from both shows will be under one banner and all will eventually be moving together to the new space.
We are excited about the future of the show in Cedar Rapids and we hope all of you are, too!

This October marks the beginning of an exciting new era as we combine two longtime shows - Midwest Antiques & Art and The Collectors Eye - into one premier antique event under the Midwest banner. A new look to the show floor, a more cohesive experience for shoppers, with the same dedication to genuine antiques. You’re going to want to see this show!

Good news! the next show is October 25, 2026. After 39 years we have sold the show to Jill & Mark Mattingly of Chrisman, Illinois.
Jill & Mark are seasoned promoters who will not only maintain the quality and integrity of the show but we feel confident will improve it. The Mattingly's have had great success promoting antique shows at their barn in Chrisman,three shows in Arcola and Tuscola,Illinois, and The Fiddler's Show in Nashville, Tennessee.We are very proud of the Midwest Antique and Art show and the Collector's Eye show and look forward to continued success and growth under new leadership.
