Faith and hope have carried me through life and I don't give up. I love to crochet and I am working hard on making this a small thriving business to bring joy with my nostalgic items as well as keep it affordable. Once upon a time, I learned how to crochet from an old friend that I don't talk to anymore. I had stopped for a while and picked it back up when I was pregnant. Like all moms, I wanted t
o buy my son so many things that I just couldn't afford. I cried and felt like a failure. I had always been able to buy and afford things for myself and not being able to do the same for my son crushed me. My husband did his best to console me, but I was resolved in my pity party. That was until I found an app called Pinterest. I was able to look at a lot of the things I had wanted for my son and quickly discovered that I could actually make almost all of these items. This was the beginning of my journey. I started out with beanies for my son with different themes. Then came the earflaps so he wouldn't get an ear infection. It happened once and once was all it took. From there people started asking where I bought them and I informed them that I had made them for him. People suggested that I sell them and I laughed at first, but soon afterward I put it out there that I was indeed now selling them. I started to gain traction and then it really started to blossom. It helped to put gas in the car, buy food, pay a bill or utility, and carry us through the pandemic. I came close to reaching the $3K marker that would allow me to turn it into a small business, but I was just shy of $500.00. Not bad for a hobby. Now, I'm looking to change that and make it something magical, unique, and personally yours from my family with love. You have no idea the amount of love that goes into every project completed. The hours I have spent filling a request, reading terms, policies, and guidelines. The YouTube videos of others before me to be instructors on how to do this on my own. Then the courage to actually implement it to make my dreams a reality. So with that, I say thank you for your support emotionally and financially. Because of your requests, I am that much closer. Because you love my completed projects I have been able to contribute and raise funds for the local Toys for Tots prior to the pandemic. I am now looking to continue this venture post-pandemic. And because of all of you, your ideas, and your purchases throughout the years have helped save my family during the hardest of times. That is something that continues to keep me grounded, and humbled, and keep paying it forward in as many ways as I can.
