Hello all. We have decided to leave Texas, and we are selling our downtown Celina house. 504 W Main St. We initially wanted to sell the house with all 4 downtown lots we have together. Unfortunately, that isn’t going so well. Consequently, we have decided to sell the house with only the 2 downtown lots it sits on. These 2 lots still comprise 1/3 acre (15,000 sq ft). We are asking $630k. If you know of anyone looking for a historic home on 1/3 acre in downtown Celina, please have them contact our relator. Ron Lyons, 214-783-5540.

This is a 1943 all steel Bunting glider set. These sets are held together with 70 large industrial strength rivets meant to stand the test of time. It is because of this that these sets are typically only painted… not fully restored. Our client did not want a simple paint job, he desired a full-on, ground-up, stripped down to the bare metal, part by part restoration. Not quick or inexpensive, but pretty sure our client now has the nicest vintage glider set on his block.

Up for today’s viewing is a restored 1930s Louis XV desk. This family heirloom came to us with multiple challenges. Peeling veneer, water damage, split wood, missing ‘chunks’, heavily tarnished hardware, AND the dreaded dog chewed front leg. It took a bit of effort, but all-in-all the end result turned out very nice.

Our client recalls her father using this desk during her childhood. Her children will now recall her using it when they are grown. This is a true family heirloom piece !!

This beautiful family heirloom came to us in exceptionally poor condition. This piece had literally been stored in a barn (actually a very common practice for folks that don’t live in the suburbs). Water damage, warped wood, obvious separations & a couple missing pieces were some of its challenges. To the average eye, this pile of old beat-up wood might have appeared unsalvageable….. BUT luckily it was a well-made solid wood piece. Real wood is quite workable. Getting the new stain to take was unexpectedly the largest challenge in this restoration. It took a little trial & error, but in the end we were able to achieve an acceptable finish. If your family heirloom seems unsalvageable, you might be surprised at how much life is still in it.

Classic Americana! These vintage 1950s Cosco stools are usually in fairly rough shape as they are by design utilitarian items. Although used in kitchens and pantries for decades, many of them are still fully functional. Due to their basic design and steel construction (& made in America), these little jewels were made to last! Throw in a little sanding & some fresh paint - it'll be good to go for another 70 years. We restored this one for a family from Blue Ridge that plans on putting it back into regular use. To us.... that's super cool!

Most of our posts are large or unusual restorations that make for impressive before/after shots. Truth be told, most of our business is small everyday items. Items such as this small end table we recently restored for a family from Blue Ridge. When it coms to saving history, grandeur and monetary value is actually quite irrelevant. If it’s important to you…. It’s important to us!

Most people do not realize these beautiful antique radios are AM only. FM broadcasting did not begin until 1941 and wasn’t popular until the late 1950s. You can spend the time and money to restore one of these 1920-1930 radios, but unfortunately you will only pick up AM stations. We decided to do a little spring break project & rebuild this unit into a modern media station that plays AM/FM radio, CD, & vinyl records. Keeps the look and feel of the 1930s, but now no longer limited to AM radio only.

I realize most of you are DIY-ers and only follow the page for do-it-yourself inspiration. Hence, I understand that means most of you will be less than impressed by what I just made a 3-hour drive to go pick up. And yes, I also understand that means most of you wouldn’t understand the money I paid for it in the state it is in… BUT this post is for the few of you that actually love vintage items and get it….

Behold…. The quintessential vintage fridge( after the Food-A-Rama). The GE 1954-55 Lazy Suzan Combination Fridge. This particular fridge was only made for 2 years and is arguably the most desirable of vintage fridges.
Once fully restored it will be a thing of beauty (hopefully) and the vintage kitschy rotating shelves makes it something everyone loves and wants.
If you’ve been looking for a true statement piece for your retro kitchen & if you’ve got a color in mind …. We’ll do the rest.

Sold to Ms. Luciana !!!! SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

This desk has been our personal office desk for some time now. We’ve run a home-based business since 2019 and we’ve unenthusiastically decided to go with something a little more functional. Of all the pieces in our personal collection, this desk has been a long-time favorite of ours. It is eclectic, elegant and a work of art -It is truly a gorgeous piece. I feel these photos do not do it justice. If your office space is lacking a statement piece… you may want to come by and take a look at this desk.

Please let us know if so.

Some of you may remember this 120 yr old dinette I put up for custom restoration a coup[le weeks ago. Due to the damaged state it was in, I opted to paint it instead of a natural state restoration. It has been purchased and is not for sale, but I wanted to upload the images in hopes that it might inspire someone out there to salvage/restore some other really beat-up antique. The chairs and the table all had to be structurally rebuilt. After that it was all gone over with several coats of an antique white custom mixed farm & implement enamel (tractor paint). I know chalk paint & milk paint are all the rage – but I restore items to last… regardless of current trends. We then reupholstered the original horsehair and leather seats with a nice sage green patterned fabric . All-In-All, it turned out pretty nice. Thank you Ms Tammy.

Sonora was one of the companies that were allowed to exist by the big three (Victor, Edison and Columbia) to avoid threats of a trust suit. Because Sonora had paid a lot of money in royalties on patents held by the big three on a per unit basis, it could only compete with them on their high-end machines. For this reason Sonora phonographs are not common machines.

Here is a restored Sonora (1913-1928). It is our first antique phonograph restoration. We were pretty comfortable with the cosmetic aspect, but the aspect of getting a record to play was a new one for us. We got lucky and after a basic cleaning and a few adjustments the motor worked just fine. Take a peek.....
