A mystery dahlia with no name to call its own. 🌸

With limited growing space in our backyard, I have to be pretty selective about which varieties make the cut each season. Mystery dahlias and those that have somehow lost their labels are usually the first to go.

But then there are beauties like this one that make me pause and reconsider. I may not know its name, but I do know I would love to see it in my garden again next year. ✨

Fall romance at the Vanderbilt Museum🌻♥️

Sunflowers, warm autumn colors, and all those beautiful fall textures came together for this special proposal overlooking the Long Island Sound. Loved creating these florals for such a memorable moment.

Here is one of our new dahlias this season, KA’s Champagne🥂

I was drawn to its unusual petal shape, especially its slender, slightly twisted tips that curl back. The buttery cream petals, brushed with a blush of pink, remind me of a flute of ch*****ne with delicate curves and tiny bubbles that make it hard to take your eyes off✨

A little throwback to this beautiful anniversary celebration from August 🧡

My marigold plants are still flowering so beautifully in the garden, and seeing them brought me right back to these florals, especially those marigold garlands.

And this venue! It was so beautifully decorated, with so much color and detail everywhere you looked. The whole vibe was truly something else.

Loved creating these flowers for the couple and celebrating another special milestone with them. ✨

Happy first day of October! 🍂

The morning air is getting chilly, leaves are falling on our driveway, and plants are slowly winding down and getting ready for their winter rest.

But one flower that seems especially happy with this cooling weather is our heirloom chrysanthemums🌼 I am seeing so many buds in the mum bed right now, and I am so looking forward to the beautiful show they are going to put on before too long.✨

A little dahlia study in a pin frog, letting all those beautiful shapes and colors do the talking.

Also, a little behind the scenes tmi. I am currently trying out every possible corner of the house to find my favorite photo spots. This one happened to be on the stairs leading down to our basement studio😂

Dahlias take their sweet time getting started, but once they do, they just keep giving. Watching all these different varieties bloom side by side is one of my favorite parts of late summer.

“What is your favorite flower?”

Probably the question I get asked most often. And honestly, I can never pick one right away. So many flowers come to mind, and I just cannot decide!

But these fuzzy celosias will always have a special place in my heart. They look like they came from another world, with their strange shapes and that wonderfully soft, velvety texture that almost does not seem like it belongs to a flower at all.

They take me back to when I was little. I remember discovering these flowers near my grandma’s place and standing there touching them over and over because I could not get enough of that fuzzy texture😂 Apparently, I was already a tiny flower enthusiast back then. 🌸🤍

Maybe I do not have one favorite flower after all. I just have a very long list.

Chickadees are one of my son’s favorite backyard birds, so of course he had to pick the ‘Chickadee’ when we were shopping for dahlias. Now they are blooming, and look how tiny and cute these little Chickadees are! 🐥💜
