KH Pottery

Hobby potter In Feb of 2019, on a whim, I joined a friend at a local pottery class. Today, it continues to be that but also a source of joy.

I’d always been interested in taking a class, but pushed it off thinking I wasn’t “artistic”. Little did I know that I would instantly fall in love with making something usable with my hands and a hunk of clay. During 2020, I learned that it could be my source of relaxation when life got stressful and isolating. My desire as a hobby potter is to make functional pieces that bring happiness, beauty,

and something special to everyday life. It brings me joy to have someone start their day with a cup of coffee from one of my mugs, have a bowl help serve up part of a holiday meal or add a little extra beauty to a potted plant. I see pottery as a reflection and celebration every day life. I hope my hobby can spark a little extra joy in your world.

I’m so grateful that my holiday sales were so incredible that the shelves are bare. Time to start filling them back up!

What an incredible weekend! I had the honor of being invited to join 10 other incredible potters at the annual Purple Door Potters sale. Thank you to everyone that took time out of your busy holiday weekend to check us out, look inquisitively at a piece, engaged in great conversation or even took home a little something for you or someone you love. I am so grateful and humbled.

Working on a new idea (I’m certain just new to me). Garlic grater, herb stripper mixing cup. Perfect for making dressings and marinades. It will probably end up about 1 1/2 cups.
