Hobby potter In Feb of 2019, on a whim, I joined a friend at a local pottery class. Today, it continues to be that but also a source of joy.

I’d always been interested in taking a class, but pushed it off thinking I wasn’t “artistic”. Little did I know that I would instantly fall in love with making something usable with my hands and a hunk of clay. During 2020, I learned that it could be my source of relaxation when life got stressful and isolating. My desire as a hobby potter is to make functional pieces that bring happiness, beauty, and something special to everyday life. It brings me joy to have someone start their day with a cup of coffee from one of my mugs, have a bowl help serve up part of a holiday meal or add a little extra beauty to a potted plant. I see pottery as a reflection and celebration every day life. I hope my hobby can spark a little extra joy in your world.

More ornaments on the way plus a peek at some of the other designs already completed! About 50 WI and 60 others. Hard to believe that the Future Neenah A Very Neenah Christmas Market is just over two months away!

I threw a cup with a new profile rib and loved it so I threw 8 more with 2 different clay bodies that have very different shrinkage rates. With a little math and measuring, a whole lot of crossing of my fingers and love from the kiln gods they all ended up essentially the same size. I absolutely love them!! I will be making more of these to sell at the Christmas market or throughout the year. Stay tuned!!

I’m so excited to announce that I have been selected once again to participate in the Very Neenah Christmas Market this December!! Seems so far away but I need to start planning what I bring this year. Any suggestions?

It’s been a bit since I’ve posted new pieces because I have some issues in the firing stage, but it seems we’ve gotten things worked out! Here are a few goodies that recently came out.

Working on a bunch of butter bells, more bowls, and taking a stab at making some olive oil pourers, and watering bells.

Don’t mind the photography. Better pictures will be posted later.

I’m so grateful that my holiday sales were so incredible that the shelves are bare. Time to start filling them back up!

If you happened to be gifted a piece or did a little shopping for yourself, I’d love to hear from you. Hope you are loving your new piece. I got to help a few sneaky shoppers 😀 So Fun!!
