It finally cooled down enough for me to get out in the garden without melting and really see what the heat had done.

I knew there would be some damage, but it’s still a little sad when you start looking around and realize which plants didn’t make it. We put so much time into nurturing our plants, but sometimes the weather has other plans.

There were plenty of little happy surprises too. Some things held on and actually look pretty good considering what they’ve been through.

And then, just when I was feeling a little discouraged, I spotted my water lily, sharing its beautiful bloom with me. 🪷

I stood there looking at it for a while. It felt like the garden was saying, “Okay, not everything went the way you wanted, but there is still beauty here.”

I needed that reminder.

So I’m choosing to focus on the beauty, what’s still growing, and all the flowers that will bloom again once the garden recovers. 💚🌿
