This kitchen remodel is hands down one of my favorites! 🙌
What started as an original 1970s kitchen in need of some serious TLC turned into a dream space designed perfectly for this family.
When I first met with my client, she wanted to keep the same layout if possible—but also hoped to add an island, a dishwasher, a coffee bar, and most importantly, a space where her family could gather.
After working through the design, it became clear that keeping the layout just wouldn’t give her the function she needed. The island we could fit? Only 2 feet wide… not practical for cooking or seating.
So we went all in 💥
I came up with a different design and removed the center supporting wall which completely opened up the space—combining the kitchen and dining area into one beautiful, functional layout.
✨ The result:
▪️ A custom 4x10 island
▪️ half of the island Seating for 6
▪️ Dedicated prep space on the opposite side
▪️ A cozy coffee bar anchoring the new dining area
▪️ Two-tone cabinetry
▪️ Updated lighting & appliances
▪️ A brand new sliding glass door for natural light
This island was designed specifically for this family—and the functionality is unmatched. It’s now the true heart of their home ❤️
She told me this is the kitchen she always wished she had when they built their first home… and now she finally has it.
