Here is my version on Mystery Monday 070124 with Sharon Armstrong...needed an Anniversary Card to give my hubby of 37 years and two children as of July 3rd. Hard to believe we met in Drawing 1 class 49 years ago. He a photographer learning about perspective and me a budding commercial artist.

Love doing Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Monday Card making sessions. Really liked this past 0506 card layout. I try to make three cards at a time to experiment with color, techniques and layout. Plus I just can't just make one. When it comes to die cutting, I like to cut way more than I need. I used Irresistible Blooms and Artistically Inked (retired) stamps and dies on Pretty Peacock and Daffodil Delight card stock and same inks. The DSP is recently retired but I liked the subtle look on the card base. Here are the three that I did.

Well the joke's on me. I pulled down a PDF from Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Monday FB page which I thought was for last May 2nd. No, it was from year 2022. At first the instructions stumped me until I figured out I had scored on the wrong side of one of the pieces. After thinking about it for a couple of hours and an email, I came up with this card. Used Starry Sky and Boho Blue ink and paper with Biggest Wish (Retired) and Beautiful Balloons (Retired) dies. DSP in Starry Sky is also retired but I bet you can come up with a different paper to use.

Okay, definitely went rogue with Sharon Armstrong' Mystery Stamping Monday night class...think I picked too busy paper and was quite literal about picking 3 different DSPs. Started with the Garden Walk one and was stumped over Stamp and embellishment. So proceeded to my second choice paper By The Bay to use my new Stampin' Up Seaside Wishes stamp and Dies. Think these came out much better. Opinions?

It seems that all I make lately are Sympathy cards for friends. On the other hand I need to make cards for three up coming baby showers. These were inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Marilyn Hoseit. Used a combination of Stampin’ Up! stamps Thoughtful Expressions and Magnolia Mood. These were done for a client. Waiting of text for the inside.

The other day in a zoom chat with my Stampin’ Up! team, a member ask as to how to open the stamp pads without get it on your fingers. Jackie showed us this neat tick. Now there some pads that are a bit stubborn but they will give in in the end. Have another tip to make them slide better, too. Interested?

Having children changes your life big time and then you became an empty nester...another big change. But this little character has made me get out of the house and become way more social. Walking Teagen has allowed me to interact with more people, although, most I only know by their dog names. This is how I met my coffee mate Kathy. Teagen is best buds with her two, Hannah and Gracie.

Sept. 21 is World Gratitude Day. I am grateful to have these two girls in my life. Megan is my daughter and Ashleigh is like an adopted daughter. Both have given us much laughter. We met Ashleigh at one of our favorite restaurants about 12 years ago, working her way through school. We introduced the two and they became fast friends. They are the same age. This weekend Ashleigh is getting marry with Megan as a bridesmaid. Now the funny part of this is, is that we showed up at the wedding venue a week early. So on this day, Sept. 21, reach out to someone who has touched your life or comment below about what you are grateful.

The Ink Botanicals Collection from Stampin’ Up© is a favorite of mine. I got a little carried away making these quick and easy notecards. I use a whole pack of paper and made 50+ cards to send to family! And why do I love this set:

🙃 I'm crazy about the colors!
🥰 The stamp set is just beautiful and unique.
🤣 And paper is amazing and easy to work with.
🥰 Everything coordinates!

Long ago and far away, PCs ran on 5.25" floppy diskettes and rarely had internal hard drives. At the time my new husband decided I needed to learn and migrate my graphics business to a computer. Well trying to learn on his computer and DOS was literally Greek to me. One day working on his computer while he was at work, I slip a diskette into the PC to save my work. I went to pull out my floppy only to find I could not. Calling John for help, I say, "Hey Sweetie, I think I found your C Drive." John replies, "What? I don't have a C Drive." And I replied, "Yes you do. It's right between the A and B floppy drives." I had managed to slip my floppy between the two drives...without looking. What are the odds on that! Poor John had to pull apart his PC to retrieve the floppy. Within the month John brought home an Apple MacPlus for me. Instant love. I have been using Macs ever since. Hope this little story places a smile on your face. We all had to start somewhere. What's your story?

I'm so proud of how much I've grown since taking on this Challenge. So far it's been an incredible journey, and I'm amazed at what I've accomplished. From creating a page to sharing valuable tips and insights, these are achievements I never thought I'd tackle before. This Challenge has provided me with the inspiration and knowledge to push my boundaries and reach new heights. I can't wait to see what other amazing experiences and accomplishments lie ahead on this path of growth and learning.

Okay, tried this with Canva. Don't know what I am doing. Completely lost my post comment for this graphic! And it didn't even fill the space! Anyway, my choices are birthday, Christmas, Sympathy and friendship. How about you?

Computer Tip: Keyboard Shortcuts! They save time within many applications (apps). There are a few that are universal throughout applications. You can also assign keyboard shortcuts within several apps. Here are a few:

Action Apple/PC
Copy Command/Control + c
Paste Command/Control + v
Cut Command/Control + x
Find Command/Control + f
Save Command/Control + s
Print Command/Control + p
Select All Command/Control + a

I use these all the time....do you? Or are you glued to your mouse?

Storage Tip! Shoe Shelves fit nicely under desks and behind couches for extra storage. The ones I found fit perfectly under my tall windows and give me extra storage under my desk. I outfitted my desk craft one with refrigerator trays. The stamp boxes and envelopes fit perfect in these trays. And yes, I have a few Christmas things that stay up all year long.

Today was a day of reflection. I read the social challenge for today and the first thing that popped into my mind was “potato salad.” LOL I am grateful for my mom and her recipe for Southern German potato salad. Yep! Potato salad. My mom was great with various German style salads but everyone goes nutty for her potato salad. For any social gathering or John’s Trap tournaments, I am asked to please bring potato salad.
I made potato salad for this past Labor Day BBQ we had for family and some of John’s business associates. It is a conversation starter. The photo shows a sample of my mom’s recipes. Some of these cards are 50 years old.

Have been fascinated with "one sheet wonders" in stamping for cards. Decided to combine my first attempt with my Stampin‘ Up team's August Challenge Using Stamp Set Petal Park, paper and ink only. Here is the result. I made 5 cards out of one stamped 8.5" x 11" white cardstock. Now I need to get more matching cardstock to match my ink used. LOL😄

In reorganizing my crafts for a new adventure in card making, I can across a book of poems given to me from a friend upon high school graduation. Inside the book I found a postcard sent by my mother in 1980 from Germany. The postcard is of my mother's home town of Straubing. Miss you Mom.
