Last week our Commercial & Codes course concluded with an in-depth look at Vertical Markets; a powerful way to understand the breadth of commercial design opportunities.

Our Commercial and Codes class took learning outside the classroom last week with a field trip that brought design concepts to life!Students had the chance to see how building finishes for commercial spaces are used, and how commercial standards shape real spaces. Tuesday in the Classroom

Tuesday evenings are dedicated to the classroom, and right now that means diving into our new Commercial and Codes course. This class officially launched last week, and we couldn’t be more excited to gather in person with our students.

Each session gives us the opportunity to take a closer look at the commercial interior design industry, learning how codes, regulations, and best practices shape the spaces we create. Beyond the technical side, it’s also a chance to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas face-to-face, which brings so much energy to the learning experience.Last week, our instructor and students explored the commercial furniture world.

We’re looking forward to the weeks ahead as we continue exploring the world of commercial design together.

Inside Urban Electric

This week IDS Charleston hosted an incredible event at Urban Electric, and a few of our interior design students joined in the tour.
