✨ A Bright Thank-You from Rick’s Lighting + Home ✨
After 41 incredible years, Rick’s Lighting + Home is closing its doors—and it’s all thanks to YOU that we’ve enjoyed such a long, meaningful run.
What began in 1984 as a small, family-owned shop started by Rick and his father (right in front of Heinsohn Electric, founded by Rick’s grandfather, Eggert Heinsohn) grew into something truly special. Just as a matter of perspective, Apple released the first Macintosh computer the same year that Rick's opened.
You helped us become:
🔹 Charleston’s #1 Lighting Store year after year
🔹 Winner of Best of Charleston 2025
🔹 Winner of Charleston’s Choice 2025 for Indoor and Outdoor Lighting
🔹 The only locally-owned lighting showroom of its kind in Charleston
And behind every glowing fixture was our amazing design team—bringing over 100 years of combined experience:
• Vickie Baker–Thomas – 26 years
• Dianne Wyndham – 21 years
• Scott Whray – 10 years
• Kathy Hood - 8 years
• Amanda Gorczyca - 3 years
You didn’t just shop with us. You became part of our family.
Generations of customers have laughed with us, designed with us, and driven miles just to walk through our lively, character-filled showroom—a place Rick envisioned as warm, welcoming, and never intimidating.
From our family to yours: thank you for letting us light your homes, your milestones, and your lives.
Charleston, you’ve been the heart of our story. 💛
