High-rise units often deal with more intense sunlight and significant humidity swings from powerful HVAC systems. Solid hardwood is like a sponge, it expands and contracts, which can lead to cupping or gaps in a condo environment.

Engineered Hardwood is built in cross-grain layers. This "multi-ply" construction makes it incredibly stable, meaning it stays flat and beautiful even when the afternoon sun is hitting it through those floor-to-ceiling windows.

Not all LVP is created equal. When you're shopping for new floors, you'll likely hear two acronyms: WPC and SPC. Here is the breakdown of what's actually happening under the surface:

WPC (Wood Plastic Composite): Known for being the "comfort" core. It has a foaming agent that makes it softer underfoot and better at insulating sound. Perfect for bedrooms and second-floor living spaces.

SPC (Stone Plastic Composite): The "tank" of flooring. This rigid core is made of limestone and stabilizers, making it incredibly dense and nearly impossible to dent. This is the go-to for high-traffic kitchens and homes with big pets.
