The summer heat may not be ready to say goodbye, but pool season is definitely winding down. This project is always a fun one to look back on. We designed the entire home, and this outdoor space was the final piece of the puzzle. It was a long time coming, but totally worth the wait. Two years ago today, my dad went home to be with the Lord. That truth brings me more comfort than I can put into words, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t still miss him almost more than I can stand. I guess grief is strange like that. Most days, life moves along normally, and then there are moments when it is still hard to believe that I live in a world where he no longer does. There are even times when I still think to pick up the phone and call him, only to remember that I can’t. Two years later, I am grateful for the memories, grateful for the love, and most of all, grateful that goodbye is not forever.

Missing you today and always, Daddy. Until we meet again.🤍

It’s hard to believe that The IT List is celebrating its 10th and final year! I had the honor of being included in 2020, right in the midst of the pandemic. Even during such an unusual time, I have such fond memories of our incredible photo shoot at Johnson C. Smith University and how special it felt to be included among so many amazing Charlotteans. Over the years, The IT List has become such a Charlotte staple, and I have always looked forward to seeing each new class of honorees. I hate to see the tradition come to an end, but what an incredible 10-year run it has been. I’m grateful to have been a small part of it. Congratulations to SouthPark Magazine and everyone who has helped make The IT List so special over the years!
