Finally had dinner at Restaurant Constance and buckle up, because I’ve got a lot to say.
I’ve been a fan of Chef Sam for many years - if you’ve never had the chance to meet him, you’re missing out on one of the most kind, humble, caring humans. If you’ve never heard Sam’s story, do yourself a favor and look him up - he is truly an inspiration.
In addition, he is a thoughtful, chef who crafts dishes like no other - a true master.
I first need to comment on the staff- everyone was incredibly attentive and friendly, and our server Kyle was happy to chat with us about the menu. We never felt rushed, and we left feeling like we had dined at a dear friend’s home.
Now, to dinner: every single dish exceeded expectations. My husband doesn’t drink at all and I drink very little; there are so few craft beverages that don’t contain alcohol, so we were both incredibly pleased to see many non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. Between the two of us, we had 4 different drinks and they were all wonderful.
We had friends with us, so we all split 6 of the starter dishes - we simply couldn’t choose which to order, so we got almost all of them! Pork belly dumplings, oysters, Korean fried chicken lettuce wraps, jalapeño cornbread waffles, crab cakes, and bbq pork ribs… oh my. Every single dish blew us away.
Our table also ordered two salads, which were unbelievable- my husband and I shared the kale salad and our friends got the cashew, cucumber, and fig salad. For main entrees, we had the pork shank, pinot noir short ribs, and arrabiata pasta. Again, every dish was delicious and we were beyond pleased.
Even though we were all full and had our leftovers boxed, we also all ordered dessert! We had the olive oil cake, miso chocolate tart, and panna cotta - all were out of this world phenomenal.
Sam made a point to come out and speak to us and thank us for coming. It is obvious that he is intentional in all that he does; his work is impeccable and he is truly an artist. Thank you for sharing your gift with us, Sam.
I highly recommend multiple visits to Restaurant Constance; you will not be disappointed!
