I have always had a passion for all things crafting and art (thank you mom!) - using any creation time as ‘my space.’ Of all the art projects I’ve delved into, calligraphy has been the one that excites me the most. The process of determining suitable fonts, creating my own fonts, designing layouts, and experimenting with decorative styles is one that I find ~soothing~. My experience and expertise

are self-taught, through trial and error with different mediums and tools. I am fortunate to have experienced a vast diversity of cultures during my childhood, and try to incorporate those different artistic styles when designing. So how did a hobby turn into this? I was asked by two of my closest friends on the morning of their wedding to help with some signs. I just couldn’t say no at this opportunity! Although I didn’t have the time to plan and perfect them the way I would have liked, what came of on-the-spot custom creations with limited tools helped me realize that I have a skillset I could be sharing with others. I have a passion for calligraphy, one in which I pour my focus, dedication and perfectionism into. My work is all done by hand, and as such will never be “printer-perfect,” but this is how I see the art of calligraphy that I love to be. I had the privilege of designing and creating these little finishing touches for a college friend’s wedding!
I loved the challenge of stepping out of my comfort zone to experiment with some floral coloring.. and her gold frames just tied it all together so perfectly. The color scheme is so elegant and eye catching!

I have two more wedding projects in the works that I can’t wait to share as well!

Anyone else have a slight obsession with coffee? 😅🙋🏼‍♀️

A friend of mine needed a little *something* to help spruce up a coffee station at work..
It turned out a little too simple at first, so I decided to add some shading and really highlight just how important coffee is. 😉🤣

It’s those small details that I pay attention to that make a huge difference in the end!! I never know going into the actual production what the end result will look like, and that’s the exciting part to me!

The event that started it all!
Two of my best friends got married at the beginning of October, and when they asked me to help with a couple of their signs that morning, I just couldn’t say no at the opportunity to get my artistic juices flowing!
Although I wish I had more time to plan and perfect them, what came of a couple on-the-spot custom creations with limited tools and time helped me realize how much I enjoyed the process of creating. Although this quick little project wasn’t as perfect as I would have liked it to be, I received so many compliments that it sparked this little business idea in the back of my head...

Flow Calligraphy by JB is new, many ideas are still being thought through to perfect outcome and customer satisfaction down the road, my logo isn’t finalized and my portfolio thus far is quite small... but every business has to start somewhere!
I am looking forward to pushing my creativity with custom projects and exploring my skill set.
