We love brown for the warmth it brings to a room, especially alongside wicker, beautiful wood, and aged brass. Our latest Fermoie display brings that palette together, pairing rich brown prints with ivory and softer neutrals.

The collection includes our exclusive Nut Brown Marden. We worked with Fermoie’s studio to develop this particular brown, refining the color together until it had the depth and warmth we wanted. It’s a lovely addition to a family of lampshades we reach for often.

We know Fermoie's patterns well, but until this month none of us had seen the cloth before it was cloth. In September our team visited the studio in Marlborough, where every fabric is drawn, colored, printed, and finished under one roof and every lampshade is made by hand. The new story on The Light Edit follows that process from the first drawing to the finished lampshade.

Texture brings balance to this fall living room by Ellen Kastelberg Interiors. Fermoie’s Nut Brown Wicker lampshade pairs with the gourd lamp at the sofa’s edge, while our Linen Box Pleat Lampshade adds crisp, tailored detail in the corner.

In a room layered with velvet, block prints, and painted furniture, quieter lampshades add detail without introducing another strong pattern. The Fermoie Wicker pattern and tailored linen pleats each bring a different kind of texture to the room.

Classic blue and white, with a twist of pink. Our Fermoie Back to the Fuchsia lampshade pairs with the Porcelain Tea Tin lamp, Pink Popple softens the Mini Figures lamp at center, and Fuchsia Whittle tops the Dragon Jar lamp in Medium.

Pink changes the character of traditional blue-and-white porcelain, bringing warmth and a less formal edge while keeping the classic pattern very much intact. And because each of these lamps is hand-painted, no two are exactly alike.

Pattern layered on pattern defines this primary bedroom by Lauren Haskett Design. Our lampshades, made in Schumacher’s Tortoise wallpaper, are paired with Hwang Bishop Tortoise Barnacle table lamps at each bedside and set against Fermoie’s Astrea wallpaper. A rich, warm amber-toned lamp and shade combination works particularly well in this setting.
