A belated posting of the fabulous exhibit of Alice Neel’s figurative art. She lived from 1900-1984 and if you look at her style it is way ahead of its time. She picked the whole range of humanity in all of its diverse complexity as her subject. And her use of color is fantastic.

New to Virginia, we spent Sunday exploring the Richmond area. I made use of Zillow to figure out the neighborhoods and literally stumbled on this off the charts gorgeous house for sale. I absolutely fell head over heels for the colorful aesthetic, abstract art and of course, the wallpaper. I shared the listing with an interior designer friend of mine who recognized it as textile designer Of course!

Currently having a glass wall like this one (framed out with black mullions) installed in an interior. What is it about glass walls like this that feels at the same time current and historic, that is so perfectly appropriate in so many contexts? We all want light to pour through a space, we all like openness, why on earth did we always default to drywall in the past? Perhaps we’ve always needed to hide the pipes. 😊
