What gives a home character isn't always what you add.
Sometimes it's what you choose not to change.

For this historic Chattanooga apartment, preserving the original windows and architectural details allowed the renovation to feel authentic to the home while introducing a quieter, more refined palette.

Even the paint color, Benjamin Moore White Dove (OC-17), was chosen to support the light and architecture quietly, rather than become the focal point.

The result is a space that feels timeless—equally at home in Chattanooga as it would in New York.

- Seat height in relation to the countertop
- Width and spacing between each stool
- Comfort for everyday use
- Whether a back, swivel, or footrest makes sense for how the space is used
- The weight of the stool and how easily it can be moved
- How the upholstery, wood tone, and silhouette relate to the rest of the home
