What’s that I spy?!? A DAHLIA bud in May!!

So last fall I ran on experiment, not intentionally, more one of those, I dug half my dahlia tubers but ran out of time and then it snowed 8” and was wet and cold lol.

In desperation I threw up a small caterpillar tunnel in hopes they would survive. And amazingly some did! Now, don’t get too excited. The majority did not come back, but this has definitely given me ideas and things to do differently. And it’s proved that overwintering dahlias in our zone actually IS possible.
