Six quilts and quilted finds are looking for new homes! From antique quilts with stories to tell to a newly finished Broken Star, there’s a little variety in tonight’s lineup.

Some quilts make you stop and look. These two make you keep looking. ❤️

From a private collection, these antique crazy quilts are two of the finest textile works of art we’ve seen in a long time. Every little section has something to admire, from the fabric choices to the beautiful embroidery.

🧵 John Deere Crazy Quilt
The original top is estimated to date to 1880–1900 and features rich textures, decorative ribbons, embroidered motifs, and a wonderful John Deere printed piece. The velvet border, gold trim, and backing were added later, giving this antique work a newer finish.
80” x 88”

🧵 Embroidered Crazy Quilt
A different look, with a mix of heavier fabrics and beautiful decorative stitching, including little butterflies! Hand pieced and hand quilted at approximately 8 stitches per inch.
62” x 75”

🌸 Those little red centers and wonderful old prints!

This 1930s Sunflower / Dresden Plate variation has so many details to enjoy. Colorful feedsack fabrics, rings of tiny triangular points, and a pieced border finished with a soft pink scalloped edge. Even the border gets its own little collection of pretty fabrics!

Hand pieced and hand quilted at approximately 7 stitches per inch.
64” x 76”

Clean and in good overall condition, with deterioration in the batting known as “batting shattering.” We’ll show and explain that during the live sale so you know exactly what you’re bidding on.

A 1940s Log Cabin with so much to look at!

Plaids, stripes, florals, and little prints come together in this scrappy Log Cabin quilt, arranged in a Barn Raising setting and framed with a wonderful bright blue border.

Hand pieced and hand quilted at approximately 6 stitches per inch, with knife-pleat binding. At roughly 80 years old, this one is in near-perfect condition!

Measures 70” x 84”.

If you’re new to Tama County Market, we’re Chris & Mindi. We love quilts as much as you do, and we want you to feel comfortable buying one from us.

Shopping online means you can’t hold a quilt, examine the stitching, or check its condition yourself. That’s why we always say we’re your eyes, and sometimes your nose!

Before a quilt ever reaches a sale, we go through it with a fine-tooth comb. Spots, popped seams, worn fabric, shredding, or odors, we look for anything that could matter to your decision and share what we find. We show you the beautiful parts and take time to explain the flaws, too.

We generally keep our auctions to 15 quilts or fewer so each one gets the attention it deserves and you have time to ask questions.

You can also count on:
• No buyer registration
• No buyer’s premium
• Exact shipping charges
• Prompt shipping once payment is received

We ask for payment within 24 hours of the sale, and then we get your quilt on its way as soon as possible.
