This week we butchered our first round of chickens! It’s so fulfilling looking down at our plates and only seeing food that came from our farm! So thankful to have been able to stock our freezer with fresh meat! Next round coming in about a month!

We’ve had a couple hens go broody this spring so I decided to give them a couple eggs each to sit on. These little cuties decided to make their first appearance over the weekend and are thriving! It is so beautiful watching nature do its thing the way God intended! Observing this sweet mama look out for who two babies, show them where food and water are, them running after her following her everywhere, her talking to them, and introducing them to the flock is just such a joyful experience for me!

We’ve got a few more introductions to make this year!

First is our amazing sheepdog, Brom! He is a beautiful smooth collie. He’s doing a wonderful job of looking out for the sheep and making sure they all stay together! His instincts are amazing and we are so thankful to have a dog that can be around all of our livestock, including our chickens without having to worry!
