Pansies are one of the best cool‑season flowers to start in April because they thrive in lower temperatures. In full sun, they’ll usually last until about the middle of June, and they’ll hold on even longer when they’re not exposed to direct sunlight all day. Since they prefer cooler conditions, giving them some afternoon shade helps extend their bloom time well into early summer.To keep them looking their best, deadhead spent blooms regularly. Make sure you remove the entire bloom and the stem it’s attached to, not just the flower head—this prevents the plant from putting energy into seed production and encourages continuous new blooms.
