Avoid the last-minute panic—start planning your retirement shadow box today.

​SWE cuts just dropped, dream sheets are coming, and for many, that means retirement next summer. Every year, orders flood in at the last minute, but custom woodwork takes weeks to design and build, and shop schedules fill up fast. Every year I get a message asking "Do you have anything, my retirement is Friday" 😆 NO, I do not, and neither does anyone else.

We don't often think of a reenlistment as a huge milestone. But, for the U.S. Marine Corps, only about 25% to 30% of first-term Marines earn the eligibility to reenlist after their initial contract.

That's a big deal and definitely worth celebrating! Congratulations to this Marine on their reenlistment! This custom maple wrench, featuring the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor set against matte red acrylic, turned out great!

These unique wrench plaques are so much fun to make and have been everything from father's day gifts to sentimental memorials. Embellishments in the boxed end always add a special touch.

No build montage, just the finished product. I love this ambrosia maple, tons of color and character...kinda like Rod! The Master Chief anchor, courtesy of Guardian Coins, is masive and fits perfectly in the center. 27 years and over 5000 hours of flight time...you've definitely earned these wings! Congratulations shipmate, enjoy your well deserved retirement! 🌊👏💯🔥😊

The life ring shadow box is officially complete! ⚓️ Custom-built to commemorate 21 years of honorable service. The Boatswain’s Mate anchors sink perfectly into the weathered life ring to highlight the distinct grain of this beautiful sapele. And of course...LIGHTS!!!
