What exactly is thread sketching?

Think of it as drawing with your sewing machine and thread. 🧵✍️

Instead of simply following a traditional quilting design, you can use your needle and thread to create lines, movement, texture, and even little details on your quilt.

And when you start playing with decorative threads?

That's when it gets REALLY fun. ✨

I'll be sharing more about this during my Thread Sketching with Decorative Threads session at the Free Motion Quilting Summit.

🎉 I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS! 🎉

I'm teaching at the Free Motion Quilting Summit 2026! 🧵

“Could I actually quilt with that?”

YES. 😍

I'll be sharing ideas for using decorative threads to bring more creativity and personality to your quilting.

The Summit is online, so you can join from wherever you sew.

And registration for the Summit is FREE.

There is also a VIP option for quilters who want the additional access and bonus content.

Sometimes it's simply about choosing a thread that makes you smile and seeing what happens when you put it through the sewing machine. Would you try decorative thread sketching?
Stay tuned for a special announcement.

I'm back! 🧵💛

It's been far too long since I've been regularly sharing here, and I've missed connecting with all of you.

So I'm dusting off the social media cobwebs and getting back to what I love — quilting, designing, playing with thread, and sharing ideas with fellow quilters.

And I have a LOT to share with you.

Over the next few weeks I'll be bringing you quilting inspiration, behind-the-scenes peeks, thread tips, stitching ideas, and some very exciting news about an upcoming free-motion quilting event that I'm thrilled to be part of.

But first, I want to hear from YOU.

What are you working on right now?

Are you:
🧵 Piecing a quilt?
🪡 Free-motion quilting?
✂️ Choosing your next project?
☕️ Still thinking about your next project? 😂

Tell me in the comments. I'd love to know what you've been making!
