I rummaged the scrap pile and made a bracelet! This is two bracelet blanks I had messed up and had been using for practice with new stamps. The top bracelet is textured with my hubby’s waffle head hammer, which hid the words originally stamped on it really well, and the bottom bracelet is textured with a border design stamp on the edges. All of its original stamping is hidden under the top bracelet. It has 4 copper rivets, although only two are actually holding the bracelets together. I drilled the holes with the blanks laying flat on top of each other, and when I bent them into shape, the holes didn’t line up anymore🤦🏻‍♀️ Rather than leaving a hole at the end of either side, I just riveted all of them. The only thing I didn’t bother trying to cover was the original stamping on the inside, because this was just a “let’s see if I can do something” type of thing, and I’m keeping it, so it doesn’t matter. I love how it came out so well, I’m going to make again it the same way, 4 rivets and all, minus the random stamping on the inside.😊

I don’t usually map out my designs, especially when dealing with simple ones that are just repeating a pattern. That involves a work that’s too much like math.🤢 However, that means that sometimes I get to the end of a blank and have extra space, but not enough for the next impression. That little bit of blank space can be the perfect place for some personalization to make a custom gift just that much more meaningful!

I finally finished it! I’ve been hand stamping for about a year now, but I’ve never done scenes, just names or words. The simple mountain scene on the wide band ring (from a previous post) gave me courage to do it again on a bracelet. With a wider area to work with, I wanted to do something a little more detailed than the ring. So I did 7 mock-ups trying to figure out which design elements to use and how to place them. Three mock-ups were on a practice piece to get a better idea of positioning and to get a feel for how the stamps would stamp. And then I STILL had a mess up when I started on the bracelet bar. Luckily it was minor and I was able to fix it, but still, the planning, building and ex*****on of hand stamping scenes is no joke. And I’m going to do it again. And again. And again.

Hammered, stamped, shaped, and soldered by hand. The jump rings are 14 gauge recycled copper wire, and the bar is made from 6 gauge recycled copper wire.
