😒In all seriousness, decorating is an evolution not a revolution. It’s not all done in a day, a month, a year, or even a decade. Tastes change, moods shift, seasons roll over. One decade you are obsessed with modern decor, another decade you are much more into a traditional home all about your comfort. We waited many years to replace our fireplace surround with an antique fireplace surround. It changed the whole room and created incredibly warmth, texture and personality. It was only after it was installed that we realized just how bad the other surround was.
And then the store. We had a quietly successful wholesale business in our basement for 6 years! But we were bursting at the seams and completely out of room. So we opened a retail shop with a store in the front and our wholesale business in the back studio. It was, and always will be, the ultimate design project. Branding, merchandising, architecture, carpentry, and design all wrapped in one.
