Since we introduced our seasonal teas in November of last year they have quickly become one of our most cherished offerings! 🫖✨🍰We have loved dreaming up the details of each one including choosing the theme, creating menu items, picking out dish ware and designing printed menus and place cards. We strive to create intentional, one-of-a-kind experiences that you remember long after you leave us. Swipe through for a peek at some of the teas we’ve held over the past year.

Set against the backdrop of peek foliage in historic Yellow Springs Village, guests will enjoy a magical autumnal afternoon and our take on a cozy seasonal fall tea. Our tiered tea trays will be filled with finger sandwiches, savory bites, scones and accompaniments, and sweet treats, all scratchmade made with a focus on the ingredients and flavors that fall is known and loved for. Guests will also choose from our selection of teas and be treated to a seasonal spritzer and amuse bouche to start.

A hauntingly charming Halloween🎃At our Mercantile & Cafe our shelves are bedecked with vintage-inspired, sweet and spooky finds to make your Halloween feel like a charming scene from days gone by. Think adorable paper Halloween houses, whimsical paper goods from napkins and plates to table runners and placemats, Halloween trees and so many other delightful and nostalgic details.

There’s a particular kind of magic that arrives with autumn, from the golden light and the chill in the air to the leaves turning gold outside the windows and those moments that ask us to slow down before we miss this fleeting beauty.

Join us on Sunday, October 25 (4:30–6:30 pm) at our Mercantile & Cafe for Fall into the Season, an afternoon tea inspired by the warmth, beauty and cozy elegance of fall. Gather around the table with loved ones to enjoy finger sandwiches, warm savory bites, freshly baked scones with seasonal accompaniments, and an assortment of sweet treats inspired by the flavors of autumn, such as apple, pear, pumpkin, maple and cinnamon. And of course, you’ll be treated to a selection of fine teas to choose from, a seasonal spritzer and an amuse Bosch to begin the afternoon.

A little taste of our NEW fall menu which launches Wednesday, September 23 🍎🍁☕️ We’re looking forward to welcoming the autumnal season later this week with some of the flavors we love most about fall…the warmth of maple and brown butter, the sweetness of apple and pears, cozy, warming spices, roasted vegetables, toasted nuts and of course, a little pumpkin spice. Our cafe will soon be filled with the scents and flavors of the season, from freshly baked sweet treats and savory bites, to seasonal drinks that feel like fall in a cup. A few familiar favorites are staying on our menu as well!

Please note, we’ll be closing early at 3 pm tomorrow (Monday, September 21) to train our staff on our new menu. And on Tuesday, while we are closed, we’ll be swapping out the remainder of our late summer merchandise for fall, so when you arrive on Wednesday, fall will be in full swing across both our Mercantile and cafe.

We can’t wait to celebrate this glorious season with you!

As the first official day of fall quickly approaches we’ve debuted even more fall merchandise at our Mercantile & Cafe to help you celebrate the season🍂We’ll be serving up our summer menu through Monday, September 21 so stop by to enjoy it for the last time before we transition to our fall menu on Wednesday, September 23. Our remaining summer merchandise, including adorable seasonal baby clothes, are 40% off through Monday.

While we’re sad to see summer’s long days, sunshine and fresh flavors go, we’re looking forward to watching autumn’s glorious transition outside our windows and introducing cozy new eats. We hope to see you this weekend!

Subscribe for soup🥣🍂🐿️ If you missed subscribing to our 6 week soup subscription program, you’re in luck! We’ve now introduced a 5 week soup subscription that begins next Thursday, September 24 and runs through Thursday, October 22.

Our fresh soups are scratchmade with local seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Hearty and belly filling, they eat like a meal and make a great quick lunch or dinner side. They’re always best sellers at our cafe!

Shorter days, cooler mornings and the first crispy leaves. Fall has slowly begun to emerge from summer’s shadow and with it, we are slowly changing over our merchandise to fall. As you may have heard, at Life’s Patina, we live with the seasons, from what we eat to how we decorate. For us, September feels like a bit of an in between month, not quite still summer but not quite fully fall. We’re still enjoying the last of the garden’s bounty and basking in the sunshine, drinking in our fill until next year, but we’re also noticing the leaves begin their transition and the earlier setting of the sun. Our merchandise and menu reflect this slow, natural transition from summer to fall as well. This week we introduced the first of our fall merchandise with more to come over the next few weeks and marked all summer merchandise off by 40% until this coming Tuesday September 15th! We’re still serving up our summer menu but our specials reflect late summer and we’ll be switching to our new fall menu on Wednesday September 23rd.

We hope you’ll join us to live in the present moment and soak in the end of summer and early fall!
