We’re flexible people. Until we’re not. 😉

Five hills we’ll die on:

Millwork is worth every penny.Wallpaper the powder room.Polished nickel > chrome.Invest in GOOD upholstery. And for the love of Nancy, get the rug size right.

Proud CTI mama here! The gang is back together, Katie is expecting !! And we’ve added a few pretty great people to the mix.

Cheryl is officially repping CTI in the accounting world, Liza has joined us and is already whipping our sample room into shape, and somehow our little showroom just keeps getting better.

Hit the next slide to meet Liza — our newest addition! 💓

Meet Liza! ✨

We’re so excited to introduce Liza, a junior at QACHS who has a sharp eye for organization and design — and, equally important around here, a wicked sense of humor.
Liza has taken on the not-so-small task of helping us wrangle our always ebbing and flowing sample room — fabrics, trims, wallpapers, rugs, and all the other pretty things that somehow go from perfectly organized to complete chaos in approximately 12 minutes.

We’re so happy to have her at CTI!

What an honor it is to be trusted with any design project. But when it’s a good friend with impeccable taste, an artful eye, and confidence in both her vision and ours?

Well, that’s some real magic right there.

Jen and Mike’s kitchen was a JOY. Collected, confident, a little unexpected… and completely them.

Grateful for the trust, the collaboration, and most of all, the friendship behind this one.

“PTA volunteer” may not be a traditional résumé credential, but it tells me nearly everything I need to know.

She sees the work. She steps in. She follows through. She cares. And she gets it done.

After three years as a PTA president, I’ve seen firsthand just how much leadership, organization, patience and invisible work these women bring to the table. They are managing people, budgets, schedules, backup plans and approximately 47 competing opinions, often all within the same email chain.

Those skills translate beautifully into the workplace, and especially into the kind of thoughtful, detail-driven work we do at Common Thread Interiors.

On the blog, I’m sharing why I will always hire the mom who volunteers for her kids’ PTA, and why the people who consistently raise their hands are exactly the kind of people I want on my team.

You’re not lifting a finger on our watch 😉

09/10/2026

The back-to-school schedules. The emails. The projects. The kids. The clients. And the constant feeling that I am dangerously close to dropping some huge ball that I have conveniently forgotten even exists. 😅

Running a business and a family sort of feels like having 57 tabs open—and at least three of them are frozen, oh and wait and LOOK! Here comes a marching band!!

But somewhere in the middle of the chaos, I remind myself: I am at the feast.

The full calendar. The growing business. The wonderful clients who trust me with their homes. The big, busy family and the life happening all around it.

This is the part we GET to do.

So keep going. Even when it feels like a lot. Especially when it feels like a lot. 🫶🏻

This is Jimmy, a driver with Brooks Express. Once a week, he comes up from Virginia bringing American Made treasures for both our clients and the showroom.

Jimmy has become an integral part of my business because, quite honestly, a lot of the time it’s just me! Jimmy won’t let me lift a finger. Sofas, chairs, DRESSERS, credenzas, servers—he unloads all of it, never complains and always does it with a smile. I truly could not run this business right now without people like Jimmy. I just wanted to make a little space on my grid for Jimmy to show you all the people who help me do what I do.

That said, ALSO please enjoy the latest unboxing of this beautiful Chaddock Furniture Workroom sofa that Jimmy delivered! It features Chaddock’s NEW cushion, which literally feels like one big, warm hug when you fall into it. The Nantucket Red chenille (I see you, Dawn Oliver Holmes !) with a linen welt is just perfect—and the biggest indicator that this sofa is a home run? I want it for ME!

Do you want to come in and sit in our chairs and sofas? Don’t be shy! DM, email, or text me to flush out a good time to stop by. Nothing is marked, but if something catches your eye, I can absolutely get you a price
And for all of my fellow zoomers: yes, I realize I have a seed of some sort in my teeth. I left it there to show you my flaws. I mean it’s the very tip of the iceberg but You Are Welcome.

Just checking… xoxo sweaty Erin
