This one is starting from the ground up, literally, and I could not be more excited to share it.
We're designing a brand new timber frame home from the inside out. Think exposed beams, soaring ceilings, and an open concept main level that's built to connect to the property around it. My clients are moving from a much more traditional home, and they wanted this next chapter to feel completely different.
The fun challenge on this one? Blending two styles into one cohesive home. One of them leans rustic, the other leans transitional, and instead of picking a side, we're finding the intersection. Warm natural materials meet refined cabinetry and cleaner detailing, so the home feels layered instead of like two competing directions.
A few of my favorite moments coming together:
The scullery is stealing the show. It's basically an extension of the kitchen with a second oven, second sink, coffee bar, and tons of prep and serving space, but the real showstopper is a large-scale wall mural left fully visible above the cabinetry. This room isn't hiding from anyone.
The great room fireplace is another standout feature, with stone running the full height of the room. And when I say full height, we're talking 30 plus foot ceilings!
And up above, an open loft overlooking the great room becomes its own cozy little escape.
Palette-wise, we're leaning into cream, tan, rust red, burnt orange, and deep earthy green, all working with the timber and stone instead of against it.
Construction has already started. This is going to be a fun one to watch unfold from render to reality.
