This Saturday!!

Come out to the Empty Bottle to have a pint, a slice and take home some cute decor from CMH! We've been off for about a month but ready to rock a new market. Only open Noon - 4pm so you'll want to come early to enjoy all the makers there and get the goods before they're gone.

Market Announcement!

Last year was my first year really diving into the market scene and given the success of those experiences I'm continuing the experiment. I've booked my first three markets for 2025 and will be adding more as I'm able.

First up, I'll be returning to Chicago Artisan at Artifacts in Ravenswood for Groundhog weekend Feb 1-2. DM me for a free entry code.

The following weekend you'll see me at the Handmade Market at the Empty Bottle Feb 8th.

Then a big break until May 10 when you'll find me out in Dekalb at the Back Alley Market.

Given the balance I need to maintain with my day job I probably won't have any in person shopping events for March and April. However the website is always open and custom order are always welcome. I'll post on here as the schedule changes!

Monday Market Wrap Up (on Tuesday)
Feeling a touch under the weather from getting caught in the weather this past weekend so doing my wrap a day late. It was a slow one for me this time and I don't mind saying. Not every show is going to be a success and the success I've seen thus far has been relative anyways!

One sale of note was the last Harry Potter treat bag finding a new owner. There is only one HP stained glass fabric item left in the shop and once it's gone, it's gone. I really strive to use as much or the fabrics I have in my stash as possible before I go buying new. I tend to keep my purchases to just basics that need restocking whenever possible. It saves me money as a small business and reduces waste for both me and the environment!

What sort of little, or big, habits do you have for reducing waste in your life?

Monday Market Wrap Up where I bid farewell to some of the items that found new homes. Normally I do this over on the page because the hats I create are often unique and never to be made again. However. I thought it would be fun to carry this over to Home as well.

Not even close to all the pieces sold are represented here but a few one-off items made the cut. Navy and gold gift bag made from quilt off cuts, aqua knit washcloths, flamingo stocking, it was nice having you around. Enjoy your next chapter. I have enough fabric left to create another flamingo stocking but it's days in the inventory are numbered.

In general I try to mix it up between new fabrics and recycling from other projects to use as much as possible from every yard on hand. Sure, it would be delightfully polished to fussy cut every bookmark and bag to get the best pattern but there's a lot of waste that comes from that style of construction and I can't bring myself to do it. So I lean into the slightly off center, less than ideal image for some pieces and focus on the positive impact I'm trying to make environmentally.

Two more weekends and two more markets for in person shopping coming up. Any orders placed after Dec 15 run the risk of being late for Christmas so place them now to avoid wrapping an empty package with an I. O. U. 😉🎄
