I’ve been on a baby bo**ie crocheting kick lately and honestly… I can’t stop 🧶✨

There’s just something about creating these tiny, cozy little bo**ies for the cutest tiny toes that makes my heart melt every time. Each pair is handmade with so much love (and maybe a little obsession 😄).

We’re getting ready for our very first in-person show this June, and these sweet little cuties will be coming with us! I can’t wait to see them out in the world, finding their perfect homes 💛

But if you’ve got a little one on the way (or already here!) and can’t wait—just reach out. I’ve got you 🫶

Prepare yourself for cuteness overload 🍓✨

Hand-crocheted strawberry baby bo**ies are here—and honestly, I can’t handle how sweet they turned out.

I blame our garden this spring… we planted strawberries, and I’ve been so excited watching them grow that they’ve officially made their way into my dreams (and now my yarn stash 😂).

So naturally, I had to turn that obsession into something tiny, cozy, and completely adorable for the littlest feet.

Consider this me sharing a little piece of my strawberry daydream with you 💭🍓

Not every stitch turns into something magical ✨

Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a “well… that didn’t work” streak over here at Twinkle Goods. This mini basket? Attempted four times. FOUR. And somehow… still not it 😅

But honestly, it felt like a little life lesson woven right in. When something isn’t clicking, sometimes the best thing you can do is pause. So I went back to the basics—the projects that feel like home in my hands—and gave myself permission to step away for a bit.

Cue slow spring days, mediation walks, and finally setting up my lazy swing (highly recommend 🌿). Turns out, a little sunshine and stillness can do wonders for creativity.

The basket will be back… just not today. And that’s okay 🤍

Well… not every project is meant to have its moment ✨

I had big plans for a line of chunky, textured placemats using this beautiful macramé cotton cord. In my head? Effortlessly elevated, modern, very Twinkle Goods.

In reality?
$15 in yarn… and 6 hours later… I lovingly created something that absolutely no one should pay what it would cost 😅

And that’s the thing about making by hand—sometimes the lesson is the product. Sometimes it’s the process. And sometimes it’s realizing when to gently set something down and say, “we’re not doing this again.”

But every “nope” gets me closer to the next “oh YES.” ✨

On to the next creation…

Spring is trying to show up in Chicagoland… and honestly, we’re here for the drama. One day it’s sunshine and budding trees, the next it’s “why is it 38° again?” 🌷😅

But the signs are there—tiny buds popping out, buckets of flowers at the markets, and that little spark of creative energy coming back to life. At Twinkle Goods, we’re officially out of our winter hibernation era and into our bright yarn, big ideas era.

Lately, I’ve been crocheting up the happiest little pouches in fresh spring colors—perfect for all your “bibs and bobs” (yes, very official term). Lip balm, stitch markers, snacks… emotional support candy… no judgment here.

These cheerful little creations will be making their debut at our first market of the season in McHenry this July for Fiesta Days—and I can’t wait to share them with you. Until then, I’ll be over here chasing sunshine and pretending it’s consistently above 50 degrees. ☀️

Tiny bunny. Tiny rattle. Tiny bit of magic. ✨🐰

This little bunny was hand crocheted in soft cream and peach tones, ready for tiny hands and sleepy snuggles.

Some toys are played with for a moment.
Some become the ones that follow little ones everywhere.

I have a feeling this bunny might be the second kind. 🤍

While we were wandering around Thessaloniki, I stumbled across the most charming little knitting shop tucked into the corner of a local market: . And of course… I had to go in. Because when you travel, you’re supposed to experience the local culture… and yarn definitely counts, right? 🧶

The shop is especially known for their t-shirt yarns used to make bags, and they had so many beautiful colors it was almost impossible to choose. After a solid amount of staring, debating, and probably looking slightly unhinged while petting yarn, I finally landed on this rich emerald green.

Seeing all the gorgeous bags and yarns in the shop sparked a little inspiration. I’ve started brainstorming a midsize project bag design that I’d love to prototype in the future.

Of course… it’s now been officially added to my ever-growing “projects I absolutely must make” list. You know, the one that grows faster than I can knit. 😂

Back home in Chicagoland.
Back to routines.

And I’m still knitting.

I’m working on the “Brooklyn” vest in handmade fi*****ng weight yarn — reds, pinks, black, and off-white. Bold. Grounded. A little romantic. Exactly how I want to feel right now.

What’s different isn’t the pattern. It’s me.

Before, I’d be thinking about the finish line — the photos, the content, the next thing.
Now, I’m thinking about the rhythm of my needles. The way the colors melt into each other. One steady row at a time.

In Meteora I learned stillness.
In Thessaloniki I remembered what passion looks like.

Now I’m practicing bringing that home.

Creating from joy. Not pressure. ❤️

I was so excited to cast on a new project for our Greece trip. I told myself I’d wait for the plane ride — 15 uninterrupted hours of stitching bliss.

And then… I didn’t start it.

Not on the flight. Not when we landed.

What I realized instead was this: I needed the downtime more than I needed the project.

I needed rest.
From my life.
From work.
From the weight of physical and mental exhaustion.
From family stress.
From all of it.

So instead of casting on, I walked. I hiked. I wandered.

I fell in love with the monasteries suspended in the mountains of Meteora — the peace, the stillness, the quiet strength they hold. I let myself slow down. I meditated. I listened to what my body and mind were asking for.

Then we arrived in Thessaloniki, where I met a perfumer — a true artist. Watching him speak about his craft, with reverence and fire, stirred something in me. His passion was palpable. Intentional. Alive.

And I realized… that’s what I’ve been missing.

That feeling I used to have when I created. When I worked. When I lived with energy and curiosity instead of obligation.

Somewhere along the way, I lost that spark.

But here, in his words and in this place, I felt a flicker of it again.

Only then was I ready to cast on.

And when I did, I wasn’t thinking about the finished piece.
I wasn’t thinking about content or productivity.
I wasn’t thinking about what it would “do.”

I was thinking about the joy of each stitch.
The rhythm.
The technique.
The quiet progress.

Just creating for the sake of creating.

This is what I want to hold onto.

To bring that presence into my knitting. My art. My health. My relationships. My work. My life.

Maybe this is where the real project begins.

One of the things I love most about knitting is the ability to customize — because who says patterns are the boss? 😄🧶
I’ve been playing around with this hat pattern for a while and decided it was just a little too long for my taste. So… I’m experimenting with more of a skull cap vibe this time.
Will it turn out exactly how I’m picturing it? 🤔
Knitting is always a bit of a surprise — but that’s half the fun! Stay tuned to see what I end up with.

Breaking news: the knitting needles have officially been sent on a tiny vacation. 🧶✈️

In the meantime, I’ve been busy crafting these adorable felt flower hair clips to restock our very depleted inventory (you all have been shopping — and I love you for it 💕).

Also, let’s be honest… this is my not-so-subtle attempt to bribe spring into showing up in Chicago. If we surround ourselves with enough flowers, winter has to get the hint, right?! 🌸🌷

Stay warm, think spring, and grab a little pop of color for those chilly days ahead!

As with many of my “big projects,” I got… distracted.
Welcome to ADHD 🧶😂
My latest detour comes courtesy of the amazing yarn maker , who clearly understands my weakness for cozy yarn and pop-culture references.
She sells these awesome hat yarn combos inspired by classic movies, and naturally my hubby and I each picked one:
🎬 “I Am Here For The Food”
🎬 “Hellfire Club”
We’re pairing them with her “Welcome to the Party, Pal” hat pattern (yes — from Die Hard), which is quick, fun, and packed with movie references. Basically the perfect “just one more project” project 😅
If you’re a knitter who loves clever patterns and yarn with a little attitude, I highly recommend checking out this shop. Now… back to my original project… eventually. 😉
