There are Santa chairs…
and then there are Santa chairs with history.
Long before holiday installs became a trend, Christmas was a craft—rooted in storytelling, scale, and reverence for tradition. My own love affair with the season was shaped early, working alongside the great holiday storytellers of Marshall Field’s & Co., where Christmas wasn’t simply decorated… it was composed.
That philosophy has never left me.
Every curve, every proportion, every detail of our Santa chair is intentional—designed to honor the grandeur, warmth, and magic the season deserves. Look closely. Woven discreetly throughout the design are hidden motifs inspired by decorative traditions from every continent on the planet—a quiet celebration of global craftsmanship, culture, and the universal language of holiday joy.
As The New York Sun famously reminded us:
“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.”
Not as a character—but as a spirit. One tucked behind each of our hearts. The part of us that believes in generosity, wonder, and the power of coming together.
This chair is not about novelty.
It’s about inclusion.
It’s about blending traditions, honoring many stories while creating one shared moment.
True hospitality has always been about more than excellent service—that should be the standard to begin with. Hospitality, at its highest level, is about belonging. About ensuring that everyone who enters the room feels seen, welcomed, and reflected in the experience.
It’s about creating moments that feel timeless, elevated, and unmistakably special—where someone from every walk of life can look at it and see themselves staring back.
Nobody does Christmas like TAYLOR & CO.
Because for us, it’s never been décor.
It’s tradition—passed down, refined, and reimagined.

A Study in Restraint and Radiance
When a bride tells us she doesn’t want flowers, our creative pulse always quickens a bit — not from fear, but from the challenge. Because design without excess demands mastery of restraint. And this wedding at The Empire Room at the Palmer House Hilton was exactly that: a lesson in intention, in history, and in knowing when not to fill the room.
Our bride envisioned a vintage-modern supper club — something that felt at home in the gilded glamour of the Empire Room’s storied past, yet looked boldly ahead to her own bright future. She wanted warmth, romance, and atmosphere without falling into the expected.
So instead of overwhelming the room, we chose to speak softly but with great power — using over 1,200 red roses, color-blocked in deep tonal groupings that drew the eye and sculpted the space. The florals became punctuation marks rather than paragraphs — deliberate, rhythmic, and strikingly modern against the room’s old-world grandeur.
True restraint in design is one of the hardest skills to learn — it’s the difference between decoration and composition. It’s what separates the greats: think of the architectural silence of Mies van der Rohe, the poised minimalism of Phoebe Philo, or the quiet confidence of Billy Baldwin’s interiors. Restraint is not absence — it’s control. It’s knowing when to let the light, the line, and the story do the talking.
Every candle, every bloom, every brass accent was placed with purpose — creating a scene that shimmered with intimacy and timelessness.
A heartfelt thank you to Tammy Leatham for capturing every flicker of candlelight and the quiet drama of this night so beautifully, and to Jamie Boton INC for the trust, the collaboration, and the shared belief that less — when done right — can be infinitely more.
