This was originally planned as the back kitchen. But the family wanted it open - so they could all be together while prepping, gathering, and just being.

We kept the materials unfussy and lasting: quartzite for softness and strength, brass that wears in, not out, and custom cabinetry by O’Brien Harris that grounds the entire space.

The interior window keeps things connected without putting it all on display.

This space is designed to work hard and feel easy.

Art Deco is having a moment - and honestly, we’re thrilled.

Athena Calderone just pulled back the curtain on her home and the internet collectively gasped. We get it.

But here’s our take: Art Deco never really left. Lacquered finishes, jewel tones, geometric patterns, a little drama - these are timeless elements, not trend pieces. They’ve always been available to the right project.

Our Lakeshore project has been quietly living in this world - piano room, Art Deco furniture, rich patterning - long before it hit everyone’s feed.
We love it, and we can’t wait to see what comes next. 🖤✨

Every client we’ve ever worked with has asked the same thing at the start of a renovation: how long is this going to take?

And every single one of them, at the end, has said the same thing: I can’t believe this is the same house.

Renovation isn’t just about changing a room. It’s about choosing things that will still feel right years from now. Finishes that age well. Layouts that make sense for real life. Spaces that finally reflect the people living in them.

Tucked inside a 1908 Georgian Revival, our Highland Park Home already had the bones: tall windows, detailed millwork, and that kind of historical elegance you can’t replicate.

The goal when we came in was to ease it up. Lighten the palette, soften the edges, and make it feel like somewhere you’d actually spend an afternoon.

A room that honors where it’s been, but knows how to live now. 🤍

If you have a TV above your fireplace, look away.

Design pet peeves from someone who sees a lot of homes:

TVs mounted too high (you shouldn’t have to crane your neck).
Accent walls when the whole room wants to be bold.
Rugs sized too small for the furniture.
Artwork that’s floating near the ceiling. Rooms without a clear point of view.

These are my hills to die on. You don’t have to die on them with me. But your neck will thank you for lowering that TV.
