Indigenous Peoples' Day is a time to honor the history and contributions of Indigenous People and the Tribal Nations. We have had the honor and privilege to work with the at Chaco Culture National Historical Park, a place that holds deep cultural, spiritual, and historical significance to many Pueblos and Native American communities.
The Chaco Canyon sites are evidence of the architectural and engineering achievements of the Chacoan people, a culture that dominated southwestern United States for more than four centuries. The monumental public and ceremonial buildings and its distinctive architecture, such as an ancient urban ceremonial centre that is unlike anything constructed before or since, deserve to be preserved.
