Some 5820 N Broadway Lore for ya! Back in the late 80s Marge Summit had to move her Bar from Addison to this very location after the city fought and won to replace her building with the Addison red line stop! She was quoted saying she had to “move to a s**t hole down Broadway” lmao! Marge was a butch le***an who helped spearhead the Chicago gay dollar activism - her bar and others would stamp all the money with a gay stamp so that the city could see how many q***r individuals spend their money here and deserve rights!! we literally have no doubt that our q***r ancestors helped us secure this perfect spot for our business! MAY BUTCHES ALWAYS RUN BUSINESS AT 5820 N BROADWAY!!!
