Alright, everyone, we have a packed calendar of events for November. There’s some free Holbein North America painting demos, felting classes, and the BYO art afternoons on Sundays. Ahh! Pigeons AND art?! We absolutely love these new canvas paintings by Coop d'État Bird Art Studio! Susan specializes in bird art, and volunteers with Chicago bird rescues! Her tiny canvases are perched all around the space, do you recognize all the artists that inspired these tiny works of art?

Decorate a Vintage-Inspired Holiday Sweater with Jillian

We will use vintage Cranston Christmas fabric appliques and add a personal touch with puffy paint, sequins, and gems. A big haunted thank you to Ashley from Ashley Folk | Folkmade LLC | Custom Cookies Chicago for teaching us how to decorate festive Halloween cookies! Ghouls just wanna have fun, and everybody got to customize their spooky cookies with a bunch of cookie decorating techniques. She makes the cookies using eggs from her family farm, and makes the vanilla herself. They taste amazing, and look pretty phantasmagoric, if we do say so ourselves.

We had a spooky-good time making spiderweb embroidery with Corrie of Corrie Aldridge! She showed us how to create the main threads on the web, and how to build up our designs, and add beaded dewdrops at the end. It was nice to be the spider!

We had a terrific paper quilling class this weekend! It initially started as a Halloween quilling class, but quickly turned into a Christmas-themed class! Perhaps we should add a holiday card-themed class in December? It works so well for natural shapes. It’s very meditative, and looks super cool!
