There's usually a solution for everything.

Recently, a customer brought in a painting to be framed. They picked out a gold frame and a beige/tan linen liner that looked really great with the artwork. The company sent the linen liner and it was completely different than the sample in my shop. It looked a lot more white/off white with pinkish tones (a little difficult to see in the photos). It looked terrible with their artwork. I contacted the company and they said that's what the liner currently looks like and there was nothing they could do about it. I thought about it for a while and finally came up with a solution. I bought a coffee grinder and ground up some pastels to get to a color that I liked. Then I used cotton pads to rub the pastel powder onto the linen liner. The end result turned out so great!! Now I can call the customer and tell them that their framed artwork is ready to be picked up. 😊

For some people, picking out frames, matting, and other framing materials for a new project can be a pretty lengthy process. Because of everything going on in the world right now, we are asking our customers to please put their new framing projects on hold until a later date. If you have completed work here at the shop that you would like to pick up, that's fine....just please call ahead and make sure that I'm going to be here before you come over. 773-334-5333. I just finished framing this for a friend that really loves Dave Matthews and has seen him in concert MANY times. Photos of meeting him back stage, the t-shirt my friend was wearing at the time, drum sticks, a guitar pick, an autographed ticket, and the song list from the concert with an original sketch and autographed by Dave himself. Great memories are being preserved here at Wall to Wall Framing. 😊

Custom framing doesn't always have to be expensive. This customer came in for a quote and didn't want to spend too much on these inexpensive prints. I told him to find ready made frames at Target or Michael's and bring them back in with the artwork. I was able to use the existing mats by cutting them down and we re-used the glass. He saved a lot of money by doing this and I was able to finish the job really fast.

Even though the commercials show that you can, please DON'T EVER try to hang your artwork with the Command Strips! They don't work on framed artwork with glass. I just repaired this piece (broken glass) for a customer the other day and he had to bring it back in because he tried to hang it with those strips and broke the glass again.
