Craving that iconic McDonald's Filet-O-Fish? Try this homemade version that’s crispy, golden, and oh-so-delicious! 🐟🍔
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cups panko
- 2 (8-oz.) white fish filets (e.g., cod or tilapia), halved crosswise
- Peanut or vegetable oil (for frying)
Directions:
1. In one bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth. In a second bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Finally, place the panko in a third bowl.
2. Take each fish filet and dip it first into the eggs, then into the flour mixture, and finish with a generous coating of panko.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot and shimmering.
4. Fry the fish filets for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown and cooked through.
