(We're not taking it personally, btw. Your attention was probably occupied by the bread and patisserie, which, frankly, is exactly where it should be.)

The copper counter, handcrafted with love by Dollyfox Metal Works is the perfect backdrop for Guillotine's gorgeous pastries. And check out that LED detail at the toekick.

References to French Neoclassical romanticism in the art, detailed mouldings and limewash wall finish.

Modern industrial influences in the lighting, stainless steel and black tile.

The windows into the kitchen with LED surround. Because those bakers are too talented to be hidden in the backrooms.

Logan Inn just might be your new favorite spot. It's certainly ours. 💕

After years of planning and months of construction, this charming circa 1891 building on the corner of Armitage and California is now home to a cafe, bar and lounge, serving coffee and sandwiches by day and cocktails and snacks by night.

As the interior designer for Logan Inn, we have spent plenty of time in the space calculating room layouts, picking out fixtures, styling decor. But last night at their Friends & Family preview, we finally got to see the place in action, full of people having a great time. It was like seeing it for the first time and falling in love with it all over again. 😍

Big thanks to VERO Design + Build, LLC., who were the general contractors for this project and pulled off our vision beautifully.

And of course a massive thank you to the team at Logan Inn for trusting us to bring their dream to life. ✨

First comes bar, then comes playlist. But not when it comes to Nine Bar.⁠

When co-owners Lily Wang and Joe Briglio reached out to Siren Betty to design their new speakeasy-style cocktail lounge in Chicago's Chinatown, we asked them to curate their ideal playlist. Their selections (Siouxsie and the Banshees, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Clash) along with a heavy does of Blade Runner-inspired neo-noir manifested as slick black ceramic tile, corrugated metal walls, chain curtains, and exposed Chicago brick. The glow of chrome bar stools and hot pink snakeskin under industrial lighting echo the gritty but electric aesthetic of the best cocktail bars in Tokyo.

Oh, Dolly. You were one for the ages. The world is better because of you and it won't be the same without you.

We posted these silly little Photoshop creations for Dolly's 79th birthday in 2025. To our knowledge, Dolly had never actually been in any of our spaces. But we're going to pretend that she had. And we'll hold on to that just the way we'll hold her in our hearts, with joy and gratitude that the world created such a wonderful human and with hope that her example lives on.

We will always love you, Dolly Parton.
