It’s the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and it feels like a lifetime ago. It was so long ago that the memories of what the world was like before are starting to become fuzzy.

25 years ago, 2,977 lifetimes were lost. May the passage of time never let the memory of each life fade with it.

May we never forget 💔🇺🇸

WE HAVE WINNERS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

10 years ago I posted a little Fort Hood sketch wondering if anyone besides my husband and I would like this way of commemorating military life. I don’t think I ever dreamed it would become my job for over a decade.

Sketch & Sentiment provided me an income when I had to leave my career and move to a military base, it was an anchor to my individuality when I was drowning in newborn and toddler mom life, and it continues to connect us to a community that feels like family, regardless of where our military journey has taken us.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up, sharing, and being such an incredible community.

And because I am SO grateful for all of you - everyone wins a discount! Feel free to use code 10YEARS for 25% off at sketchandsentiment.com through May 31st. Here’s to the journey, and cheers to another 10 years!

Today is more than the unofficial start of summer, cookouts, lake days, and long weekends. I say that not to take anything away from the joy of those things, but to invite something more.

Memorial Day was born from grief. It exists because some people gave everything, completely, and finally, and for you and me.

Despite the busyness of the world around us, I invite you today to take a sacred pause. Consider how you are honoring the legacy of those who sacrificed their entire lives to give us the gift of life.

Let's make it a life worth living, fully and on purpose.
🤍

ENTER TO WIN ⭐️ The BRAT Bundle, for specially designed for those Born, Raised, and Transferred.

If you grew up as a military kid, you know all too well what it's like to be the new kid, AGAIN, to make a best friend and then move away shortly after, to call 3 different states home before graduating middle school, and to be brave in ways most kids your age never have to be.

Military children don't choose this life, but have to learn how to carry the burden with a grace and resilience that civilians could never understand. These kids grow to become some of the most adaptable, empathetic, and remarkable people I've ever had the privilege of knowing through this community.

Cheers to the BRATs! 💜💜

One winner will receive:
💜 One Military Child t-shirt (winner's choice of size)
📌 One Bravery in Bloom pin
⭐️ A set of BRAT stickers

ENTER TO WIN ⭐️ The Long Gray Line Bundle

Congratulations to every family celebrating a graduate at West Point today!

My husband is an Old Grad, and if you know anything about the Long Gray Line, you know that West Point is not just a school. It’s a legacy that follows you for the rest of your life, whether you’re on active duty or long since hung up the uniform. Just as quickly as I fell in love with the community the Army brought me, I found myself embracing the history, the tradition, the standard the West Point spirit sets for everyone lucky enough to be part of it.
This bundle is for the future cadets, the Old Grads, the proud parents dropping their kid off at R-Day trying not to cry, and the spouses who have learned what Duty, Honor, Country really means.

(And, as the to-do list says… Beat Navy!!!)

One winner will receive:
⭐️ One West Point t-shirt (winner’s choice of size)
🖤 One West Point button
📝 One notepad & pencil set
💛 One West Point sticker

How to enter:
✦ Step 1: Sign up for the email list via link in comments 🔗
✦ Step 2: Like + save this post
✦ Step 3: Tag a West Point cadet, grad, or Army family in the comments for a bonus entry
✦ Step 4: Share this post to your Stories for another bonus entry. (Private account? Send me a screenshot! 📸)

All winners announced Sunday, May 26! Giveaway open to US addresses and APO/FPO. Come back tomorrow for Day 3! 👀

ENTER TO WIN ⭐️ The PCS Pro Bundle

This is for you if you've ever started all over again in a place you couldn't find on a map two months ago, if you can't remember your current zip code, or if you are learning that home isn't a place, it's a feeling.

In the last 10 years, I've drawn over 300 military bases to honor your unique story. Starting over in a place you had no choice to go isn't always pleasant. But, I've learned from experience that joy doesn't wait for a happy ending. It meets you in every awkward introduction, with every last box finally unpacked, and every new zip code learned, if only you'll let it. Sketch & Sentiment exists to help you find joy in the journey, not just the destination.

One winner will receive:
🎁 One 8x10" duty station print of your choice
🌲 One ornament of your choice
✨ One decal of your choice
All three prizes are customizable to tell your own story 🫶
