This applesauce bread has no butter and no mixer — and it comes out more moist than most loaves made with both. The reason comes down to one ingredient that most quick bread recipes don't use enough of.

APPLESAUCE BREAD

Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk oil, sugar, eggs, applesauce, and vanilla together. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves — stir until just combined. Pour into a greased 9x5 loaf pan. Bake 55-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before slicing.

Better the next day when the spices settle. Hard to stop at one slice.
