This piece finally sold today. It took exactly 7 weeks. That can feel like FOREVER when you're used to selling pieces more quickly. But the time it takes to sell a piece doesn't take away from its value or artistry. Sometimes we just have to wait for the right buyer, get pushed up by the algorithms, and stay firm in our work, price, and ability.
Although this piece sold for less than I originally listed it for, I know that some months of the years can oftentimes mean slower sales. I see this frequently in the free group I run called Boost Your Furniture Listing where we help each other to boost refinished furniture listings without having to pay to boost. It's been really helpful for over 5 years now!
This morning I "relisted" this piece on Facebook Marketplace. Shortly after, I got a low ball offer. I thanked the person and let them know I couldn't go that low. About 2 hours later, I received another offer that I was willing to accept. See how that works? When the algorithm pushes you up, you get more visibility... Summer months can be a hard time to sell while families are vacationing, spending money, and busy. Especially with more artistic/specific pieces such as this that can narrow/limit your market.
