Well- the flower pressing did not go as planned this time. Some mold on about 1/2 of them. 😡😞
I changed several things this time- so not sure what the main problem was. Here’s what was different from my earlier presses when I had no mold at all:
1) new huge press- has 2 ends not fully open- could be it
2) new paper- ?
3) way more layers than I’ve ever attempted
4) I added some monstera and elephant ear leaves to the mix. Do these hold more moisture?
5)the flowers were slightly damp from morning dew. I did try to let them set out to dry and blotted them with paper towels- but still, I think this was the biggest factor.

I was just so excited to try out my new press and paper, and I wanted to grab all the flowers I could before going to work cuz cold weather is coming.
I will add the non-moldy flowers to my collection, buy some new paper, cut flowers when completely dry (can’t even believe I thought that would work) and maybe trim those closed edges off my press so I can TRY AGAIN. Stay tuned!
