The Panagia Glykophilousa ("Sweet-kissing" or "Loving Kindness") is a revered Orthodox icon type depicting the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child in a close, tender embrace with their cheeks touching. It belongs to the Eleousa (Tenderness) category and symbolizes, often with a sad foreshadowing of the Passion, intense divine love.
