Happy new year Fableroast fam ⭐️

I've been working diligently behind the scenes to get up and running. Expect to see more regular content, including behind the scenes snippets and what you can expect to see from us!

My current workload includes securing the financing necessary for opening, finding/locking in a location, and publishing our website where merch will be available for purchase.

I am hopeful for a grand opening this year!

Answering some FAQ's ~

⭐️ WHEN ARE YOU OPENING? ⭐️
I do not have a date set yet! As a disabled person I am paying close attention to what my limitations are, and taking my time to ensure that any foundational decisions are made with precision and intent.

⭐️ ARE YOU HIRING? ⭐️
Not right now but eventually I will!

⭐️ WHERE WILL YOU BE LOCATED? ⭐️
The plan is to be a mobile coffee trailer - I would like to remain in one spot a majority of the time but have the ability to move around. My current plan is to open in Clarkston, WA and eventually move further west towards Seattle.

⭐️ HOW CAN WE SUPPORT YOU? ⭐️
I am working on a website that will be primarily set up to sell themed merch - the sales from our merch will be used to help pay for our startup expenses.

⭐️ WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER COFFEE SHOPS IN TOWN? ⭐️
I want to cultivate an experience that goes beyond a standard transaction - to humanize one another. Empower myself and my colleagues to provide for ourselves in a way where we don't have to panic about rent, food, or access to healthcare. Advocate for the preservation of art and literacy. Authentically be ourselves and unwilling to tolerate bullying, intimidation, and abuse.

This company is my passion project and I appreciate all the support I've received so far - I am going to try to post more consistently and unpack my personal need for perfectionism! I have to remind myself daily that perfection is unattainable and doesn't align with what I'm trying to achieve. Thank you for being here! ☕️⭐️

Greetings traveler, and welcome to Fableroast! ✨

My name is Olive, and I’m opening a coffee shop - but by no means is this your average stand. I want to cultivate novel experiences, build community through mutual aid, preserve the arts, and promote access to literacy. Kind of a laundry list of big goals, but I’ve put a lot of thought into this and I believe in what it can - in what it WILL - be.

As a neurodivergent person, I’ve struggled in many work environments. I want to cultivate a workplace where those of us who have historically felt singled out and ostracized can thrive - where we’re valued, and not just treated as part of a bottom line, but as a human being deserving of respect and dignity.

We talk about community building - but in a society where third spaces are dwindling, it’s crucial that we work to support and protect these spaces where we’re allowed to exist with one another. Public parks, libraries, and yes - some coffee shops too! As a library professional, my goal is to allow Fableroast to act as a true third space. You don’t have to buy anything to be here - and ideally, the company will generate enough revenue to pay for the implementation of community events/programming, so everyone, regardless of class, can enjoy them. Profit is not our incentive.

At this stage, Fableroast is in phase 1 - online only, existing in cyberspace. Coffee shops are not cheap to start, and as a person in poverty, my options for funding this endeavor are limited - that is where you all, my community, comes in.

I am working on building a website where merchandise will be available to purchase to contribute to Fableroast’s startup fund. All merchandise artwork is created by hand, by real artists. In the age of AI, this business is a proud and firm supporter of HUMAN ART made BY HAND. No AI, ever. Additionally, I will have crowdfunding accounts where you can donate if you choose. All proceeds will be used to purchase the initial equipment we need to start making coffee - which amounts to roughly 80k (it’s a lot but I think we can do it!)

I have to believe that there is a better world possible. Follow along, if you’re ready for the adventure ☕️
