A post made just now in The Dye Lot by one of our dye trainees in South Africa 🇿🇦
I just want to take a moment to thank Chris for all the time, effort and knowledge he shares with us. 🙏
Chris, the fact that you’re willing to travel all the way to South Africa, share your experience, and take the time to teach us means a lot. I hope you know that your efforts are appreciated, and that what you’re passing on to us really does make a difference. Thank you also for coming to Knysna and spending time with us!
I’ve attached a before-and-after of a Chinese rug I recently airbrushed. I know I still have a lot to learn, and I’m not pretending to have everything figured out. I probably didn’t charge the client what the job was worth, but I gained something valuable in return — experience and the opportunity to learn.
For me, it’s about getting better at what I do, one rug at a time. The more opportunities I get to practise, learn from my mistakes, and apply what Chris has taught us, the better I’ll become.
Sometimes the real payment is the knowledge you gain.
Chris, thank you for sharing your knowledge so generously and for helping us grow in this craft. It’s appreciated more than you know! 👏
