🦋 A Quilt Years in the Making 🦋

This beautiful quilt was lovingly created by Sandi, by using butterfly pieces that came from a very special family and friends. Back in 1981, Sandi received fabric through chain letters, where sources from all over mailed pieces of material to one another.

Each butterfly in this quilt was carefully cut from those fabrics, and the antennas hold an extra special touch — the name of the person who originally sent the material. What a wonderful way to remember the friendships and connections that quilting creates!

Sandi held onto these treasured pieces for many years before finally bringing them together into this finished quilt. The result is not just a quilt, but a beautiful piece of quilting history filled with memories, names, and stories from over four decades ago.

This special quilt went back home to Cathy Hilton, and it carries a beautiful story. ❤️

The quilt top was lovingly pieced by Cathy’s mother, Ginger, making it a treasured piece filled with memories. Cathy brought it to Colbert Quilting so we could finish it and help bring her mother’s work to life.

The rich star blocks and floral fabrics are stunning, and we added a hummingbird quilting design that really shines on the back and gives the quilt such a soft, flowing texture.

There is something truly meaningful about finishing a quilt that was started by someone you love. We’re always honored to play a small part in preserving those memories. 🧵

There is just something so special about custom quilting on heirloom pieces like these 🤍

These beautiful quilts were custom quilted for Sandra P, and it was such an honor to add the finishing touches to her treasured tops. The delicate cross-stitch florals, soft pink bows, and embroidered details deserved quilting that would enhance — not overpower — their charm.

We added custom quilting that flows around every flower, vine, and border to give each quilt movement, texture, and that extra touch of elegance. From the detailed background fills to the sweeping designs that frame each embroidered motif, every stitch was thoughtfully placed to complement the handwork already there. ✨

To complete them, we also did the binding — giving these quilts a polished, beautiful finish and making them ready to be loved for years to come.

It’s always special to finish a quilt, but it’s even more special when it’s created for a cause that touches so many lives. We absolutely love the movement in this design — the layered angles and swirling center give it such a modern, dynamic feel. The cool blues, grays, and blacks make it a timeless piece that will fit just about any space.

There’s just something about soft florals and sweet star points that feels like home 💕✨

This quilt is full of charm with its mix of navy florals, blush pinks, fresh greens, and creamy neutrals. The scattered star blocks add the perfect touch of whimsy, while the soft allover quilting gives it beautiful texture and movement.
