I’m honored to be participating in a vendor event benefiting the Deputy 550’s Warrior Foundation, created in memory of Deputy Savanna Puckett.
I cannot imagine the heartbreak of losing a child, but I have so much respect for Savanna’s mom and the way she has taken that pain and turned it into purpose. She has worked tirelessly to fight for legislation that could help protect others from domestic violence and, hopefully, spare another mother and another family from ever having to experience this kind of loss.
From one momma to another, I’m proud to support this foundation and help honor Savanna’s life and legacy.

Wildflowers and Whatnots will be CLOSED this weekend (8/29 and 8/30) so that we can give our Leeds location a refresh! We will be open as usual on Tuesday, 9/1. Also, we will not be opening until NOON on Wednesday 9/2 as I have required training for work.

Hey Friends,
Jersey here. I want to share something honestly from the heart.
Wildflowers and Whatnots is growing, and I am incredibly grateful that we have continued to make sales every single month since opening our doors. But getting our name out into the community—and getting consistent foot traffic through those doors—has been slower than I had hoped.
I’ve hosted events in the shop, paid for advertising, donated to local charities and fundraising events, and tried in every way I know how to introduce people to this little space I believe so deeply in.
So this fall, instead of simply waiting for more people to find us, I’m going to take Wildflowers and Whatnots out to meet them. I’ll be participating in several local events throughout the fall in hopes of introducing more people to our shop and growing Wildflowers and Whatnots into everything I truly believe it can be—not only for me, but for the incredibly talented vendors who have trusted me with their creations and their small businesses, too.
Because of that, beginning September 1st, I’ll be posting a monthly event calendar that will include where you can find us, upcoming events happening in the shop, and any changes to our regular shop hours or days we may be closed while we’re out in the community.
I believe in my vendors. I believe in this dream. And I believe there is something special about having a creative space where people can walk in, feel at home, make something, laugh with friends, spend time with their kids, or simply wander around and find something that speaks to them.
I know the handmade and small-business market can feel crowded, but I also know what makes this little shop different. You can walk in needing a gift and often leave with something personalized the very same day. You can find something for almost literally anyone on your list. You can sit down with your best friend, bring your kids, or come completely by yourself and enjoy a little creativity therapy. And behind so many of the things on our shelves is a real person, a real family, and a real small-business dream.
I didn’t open Wildflowers and Whatnots because I wanted to simply fill a building with things to sell. I wanted to create a place that felt different. A place that supported other makers. A place where creativity was encouraged, where people felt welcome, and where someone could walk through the door with an idea and we could say, “Yep, we can probably make that.”
So this fall, I’m going to keep showing up. I’m going to try some new things, take this little shop on the road a bit more, and keep working to help people discover what we’ve been building here.
If you’ve shopped with us, shared a post, brought a friend in, attended an event, recommended us, supported one of our vendors, or simply cheered us on—thank you. Truly. Every single bit of support matters more than you probably realize. We’re growing. We’re learning. And we’re figuring out what works along the way.
I still believe this little shop can become everything I imagined it could be. And I’m not giving up on it.

🌻🎃 September is about to get crafty! 🎃🌻

Starting in September, we’ll have two late nights each week with plenty of opportunities to come in, hang out, and CREATE!

We’ll be making sunflower-themed door rounds, porch leaners, and custom welcome mats—but if you’re already in spooky season mode, I’ve got you covered too! 👻🧙‍♀️

Halloween kits will also be available with ghosts, Frankenstein, witches, and more, so you can choose the project that fits your vibe.

Today, Tennessee—and truly the world—lost an icon. Dolly Parton gave us an incredible lifetime of music and songwriting, but her legacy reaches far beyond the songs we all know by heart. She had a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a beautiful way of reminding people that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being exactly who you are.
Dolly never seemed interested in fitting into anyone else’s mold. She was bold, funny, sassy, sparkly, unmistakably Southern and completely, unapologetically herself. In a world that so often tells us who we should be, Dolly showed generations of us how beautiful it can be to embrace the wonderfully unique person you were meant to be.
But one of the things I have always loved most about Dolly was her belief in the importance of reading and putting books into the hands of children. Reading has always held a very special place in my own heart. There is something almost magical about opening a book and realizing that, for a little while, you can go anywhere. You can travel to another country, another time, another world—or simply see this one through someone else’s eyes. Books encourage imagination and curiosity, but they also teach us, challenge us and open doors that children may not even know exist yet.
It was something that was incredibly important in my own life, and something I worked very hard to pass along to my children. So Dolly’s commitment to making sure children had books of their very own has always meant a little something extra to me.
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, children receive a book in the mail every month from birth until age five. Think about what that means to a child—a package arriving with their name on it, and inside is a brand-new story that’s all theirs. Month after month, Dolly helped put imagination, education, possibility and a little bit of magic directly into the hands of children. What an incredible legacy to leave behind!
Wildflowers and Whatnots was honored to donate several items this month to support our local Montgomery County Imagination Library fundraiser. I’m proud that our little shop was able to contribute, even in a small way, to something that meant so much to Dolly and means so much to me personally.
But today, I’m not writing this as a business owner. I’m writing it as a Tennessee resident, country music fan, a lifelong reader, a mom who tried to raise readers, and simply one of the millions of people who admired a woman who showed us that you could be kind without being meek, successful without forgetting where you came from, generous without needing applause, and completely, beautifully yourself without ever apologizing for taking up space.

Thank you, Dolly, for the music.
Thank you for the laughter.
Thank you for the stories.
Thank you for loving Tennessee.
Thank you for investing in our children.
Thank you for reminding us that being different can be something worth celebrating.
And thank you for leaving this world a little better—and certainly a whole lot more colorful—than you found it. There will never be another Dolly Parton.

We will always love you, Dolly. ❤️
