Saturday and Sunday! The Clawson Clay Guild is proud to present The Clayzel Park Pottery Showdown—a clay-fueled extravaganza of live pottery demonstrations, hands-on wheel throwing, and wildly fun contests that put both skill and silliness on center stage.

Andrea DeShano is a long-time Detroit artist known for her whimsical and bold clay characters—aliens, chicken-men, little piggies, and the occasional politician all emerge from clay. In this class, you'll explore sculptural and functional forms with attitude, meaning, and maybe a bit of mischief. Andrea’s hands-on, story-driven approach welcomes beginners, intermediates, and advanced students alike. Let your imagination take the wheel—this class is where clay gets weird, wild, and wonderful. Join Andrea and the crew for Wednesday night hand building, classes begin August 19th.
