Taking a break from the Clayton Market! High Heat Index took a hard toll on Moon Howler and foot traffic was abysmal. Will return mid-September, but you can always contact me via [email protected]

This is Oakley who bought her own Moon Howler this morning, with her own money carried in a ziplock bag! She got a Special Discount for being So Cute, but wanted to give me an extra $5.00 because she really loved her new stick, but I told her I couldn't accept it because the tree it came from didn't have pockets! Her Mom and Dad liked this a lot.

Oh yeah, Rosie was also back - buying herself a Moon Howler!

Ended May with a morning at the Clayton Market! Thankfully I had purchased additional tent weights (40 #) as the wind gusts were frequent and strong. Saw a lot of friends and collected a few photos of Moon Howler sticks in action...

A terrific Clayton Market today - temps in mid-70's with little breeze. Sold a few sticks, including one upper tier Shillelagh, with lots of interesting discussions with any passerby I could steal a couple of minutes!
Met Wendy, a tall middle aged lady who hated her cane and was trying to get along without it, with limited success. After some chatting, she picked out a tall stick and gave it a spin, with good results. She took advantage of my ongoing 25% discount (Anti-Recession Sale) and walked away confidently.
Received a donation stick from my bud Jon, for whom I had finished a couple of Sycamore sticks for his son and he - and this was Jon's way of saying Thanks for my earlier efforts. It is going to make a great and interesting stick.
Lastly, another pal, Dave, lived up to his promise - delivering a half dozen long Sweet Gum sticks from his back yard. A couple were beyond redemption, but 4 now fill my "Inbox". One of them needed trimming to length, as it was almost 8' long - and the 3 footer cut off became the prize of a young guy enthralled by my sticks.
A good, profitable, satisfying day!

Had a great Saturday at the Clayton Market! Sold 4 sticks and had a lot of good conversation with passers by! Met Capt Rock Hudson, USMC (Ret), who had received a donated Moon Howler stick a momth ago and we swapped a couple of stories! Reaching a point where I need to begin finishing a few more Custom Sticks!

Tried the Flowers Plantation market today, with some success. It's a newer market than the Clayton City Market, but still had 30+ vendors - and was more Arts & Crafts oriented. Enjoyed meeting new vendors and a goodly number of potential new customers. I did sell one stick to a Clayton City Market person, who came to this market just to nab her own Moon Howler Stick!

Learned something new today! David came up to my booth today, asking about "Musclewood", a.k.a. "Ironwood". Seems one of his adult sons is a certified Falconeer. The falcons don't team up with humans because of any emotional attachment, but because falcons are Opportunists - and we humans assist them in securing a meal!

The local falconeers use a stout Musclewood staff to smack trees as they work the bird, hoping to flush squirrels and other critters from the tree - where the falcon can proceed chasing a meal! I didn't know that!

David has a good size Musclewood stick which he would like me to convert to s hunting tool! I have several Ironwood sticks in inventory, so he could see that I could do what he needs! Fun (except for the squirrels!).
