Definition of terrazzo: a mosaic flooring consisting of small pieces of marble or granite set in mortar and given a high polish.

"Many People call and want to restore their floors, but tell me their friends say it is old fashioned. While terrazzo dates back to the fifteenth century, pants are even older than that. Terrazzo floors come in a variety of colors with aggregate that can range from marble stones to glass and even sea shells and nuts and bolts. The sky is the limit. If you can polish it shiny than it can be used as an aggregate in terrazzo flooring. Terrazzo is not old fashioned. Terrazzo flooring is continuous flooring throughout the house. Polished to look like marble and no grout. Easy to maintain and never gets worn out. I do not see a downside."

Dear owners of houses built in between 1950-1970 this message is for you! You might be lucky owners of Terrazzo floor. Take a minute and check under the carpet!!! Terrazzo floor is 70% marble chips and 30% porcelain cement. Verrrry Expensive floor, which can be restored to its original condition with even more shine. I went through numerous Terrazzo floors, which were 100% restored. Don't spent your money for chip ceramic tile! Remember you covering Marble floor!!! Please check out my other posts with pictures Before and After. I will do free estimate and if your realtor will tell you that this gonna increase the value of your house- don't be surprised!)

Beautiful 50 years old Terrazzo as usually abused and covered with carpet and kitchen tile... Oh well. I was able to bring it back to its original look.
